Tapas and Spanish Wine Tasting
Friday, March 4
Join us at Forage for a special evening of Spanish wine & cuisine. Nuria Hoff will be sharing some of her Grandmother Dolores "Lola" Ridruejo's tapas recipes in a family-style gathering. Lola was born in El Burgo de Osma, Soria in 1893 and lived most of her life in Catalonia. She and her husband made their home in Sant Sadurny D'Anoia where all of the Cava in Spain is produced. Her husband was a local physician. They lived thru the Spanish Civil War and even though times were tough they never went hungry due to Lola's creativity in the kitchen and the generosity of her husband's patients who often paid him with goods & produce. No matter how meager the meal, they always washed it down with Cava which was abundant. When her husband passed away the local Cava makers promised that she would have Cava for life....and they kept their word. This might be why she lived to be 101!
- The evening will begin with a wine tasting of Spanish Cava, white, and red wines.
- We will begin serving food at 6:30. This event is a family-style gathering and we will not be able to accommodate late arrivals.
- In keeping with the regional cuisine of Catalonia this event will be vegetarian and Lent friendly!
- Cost: $30 per person (includes food and wine-tasting..additional wine & beer available for purchase)
