Seed Starting 101: It's not as hard as you think!

  • 403 South Barstow Street Eau Claire, WI 54701 USA (map)

You can get an early start on your gardening season by starting your own plants indoors. Would you like to grow the vegetables and flowers of your choice, especially those hard-to-find varieties? Then join us on April 6 when Andy Heren will teach us how to start our own seedlings. He'll tell you what materials you will need, when to start, and how to care for them until you plant them in the ground. He’ll also share his favorite heirloom varieties and sources for seeds.

Andy Heren has been gardening all his life. In 2010 he became a Master Gardener. His gardening interest is vegetables; his gardening passion is heirloom tomatoes. He loves trying a few new varieties every year in addition to his old favorites. He enjoys teaching others how easy it is to start their own seedlings, which is good to know if you want to plant the hard-to-find varieties. This is a Make It/Take it class, so at the end of his presentation, you'll be able to plant a few pots with seeds to take home to get you started.

So join us with your gardening enthusiasm and your gardening questions!

This class is free of charge, but please register here as seating is limited. Doors open at noon, class begins at 12:30 pm.
